We are all aware of Westerbeke's proprietary parts cost and their reluctance to allow cross referencing for parts.

I'll post some information on the gas generator parts cross reference. Please feel free to add any you may have, and if anyone wants to post diesel part numbers just make sure to denote the difference.

Somewhere in the electrical forum there is a thread that has a list of many cross reference numbers for this. It is probably a couple of years old.

I came across one at one time, and copied the numbers. Recently I worked on my unit and had to order parts. What alarmed me was Westerbeke wanted $400 for a coil. So I did research and found this was a Mitsubishi engine, and went to Advance Auto and purchased the same coil for $39.95.

Some parts are uniquely westerbeke. But others are easily obtained at your local parts store, much cheaper.
 
Yeah, I thought this sounded familiar. I suggest that any posts always include the year and model of the generator.
 
Westerbeke uses small engines from Asia, so once the engine is identified it's not hard to source parts.

I wouldn't mind if westerbeke put a slight markup on them, but honestly, $400 for a $40 part? That's a bit obscene.

Hopefully by compiling info that each of us find will help others out down the road.
 
I have a 1998 Westerbeke 7.2 BCGTC and in need of a coil. List price is $421. Has anybody cross referenced it with a cheaper part?

Which generator was it for? I am looking for a coil for a 7.2 BCGTC.
 
I’m looking for a pick up module for a 2000 7.0 Westerbeke. There is a tridon TPU004 Part but it’s in Australia. Does anyone know a cross reference number for this Mitsubishi three cylinder motor I can find parts for. It shows it came in a Mitsubishi lancer but checker cannot find nothing. Thank you

Do you know where I can get a pick up module for my 7.0 Westerbeke? 2000
Year module. I know there is a tridon TPU004 part but comes From Australia and the shipping is almost double what the part is. Thank you

Anyone have a cross reference guide for 7.2 60Hz BCTGC I need a capacitor 35mFD and a govenor drive built westerbeke p/n 042798 Thanks

I needed one a few years back. I had the part number but couldn't locate it anywhere. I searched for it on ebay of Japan. they had and it was packaged in a standard automotive box. I took that part number and bought it online.
 
This place has the raw water pumps by Johnson that Westerbeke, and lots of others, use.

I got the exact pump from them for my gas Westerbeke. I also ordered impellers for my Onan.
