After 4 years with nothing but one set of new plugs and annual oil changes I am preparing for a major tune up of my 12 year old Westerbeke with 600 hours on it. Planning on doing the points and condenser along with changing the lube in the governor, changing the raw water impeller, the drive belt, the plugs, the fuel filter in the carb along with fresh coolant. I also am going to take the heat exchanger to my radiator shop to have it cleaned. Can anyone give me some pointers on the points? Can you use a normal old dwell guage on a three cylinder motor???

The one time I replaced points was on my 4.5KW Westerbeke in my 330DA. I set the points with a feeler gauge. If you need the setting, and don't have the maual, you can call Westerbeke direct.

Thanks Dom, I think that is what I will just do. I have the spec in the shop manual. Nice talking to you a few weeks ago at Tices.
