I have a 4.5 Westerbeke in a 2002 340. This weekend it shut down by itself after running for around 2 hours. I tried restarting it, and ran for around 30 seconds and died. I changed the fuel seperator and added some sea foam. Now it will start up, and run, however when I put the a/c on, the generator sputters and shuts off. Seems like a fuel issue since the sensor shut offs are for temps and oil.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice as to troubleshooting, would greatly be appreciated. ( when I checked the fuel in the old filter it was all fine --no sepeartion or particles...)
Thanks all.

From the Westerbeake tech manual for you Genny:

1. Faulty shutdown switch

2. High Engine water or exhaust Temp

3. Dirty fuel Filters

4. Mechanical check valve at the fuel supply faulty

5. Low Oil level in sump

6. Faulty fuel Pump

7. High exhaust back pressure

However, I would start by changing the Plugs...
