Westerbeke 4.5 BCGB LOUD BAD TICK

Anyone have any ideas on this loud tick? It is a 2001 Westerbeke 4.5 BCGB - Runs great but this tick is obnoxious. I adjusted the valves to check that and all was good - except when turning the motor by hand, at certain points it would lock up to the point where I couldnt turn it by hand (plugs were out, not hydrolocking or building too much compression). If I pumped the starter it would still spin through that locking.

Try using a mechanics stethoscope to locate the source of the noise.
