Hello. We have a 2014 220 Sundeck with the rockford fosgate stereo (two remotes, head unit, amp, subwoofer). Havent owned the boat long, but I have encountered a strange issue that I need advice on.

If on FM stereo, everything works perfectly.

If I switch over to bluetooth and flip the amp on, the amp continues to play the fm stereo! If I turn the amp off, the bluetooth source plays.

I have reset everything (by way of battery off) , and it continues to occur. Any ideas?

Thanks

Howdy, and welcome to the cult, your best place to find lots of folks with a lot of experience and knowledge to help.
Unfortunately, I’m not the one to help, here. You’ve obviously isolated the issue to be in the amp, maybe totally disconnect the amp, so any residue memory would be lost…..not a high probability that’s gonna help….

To me
, that doesn’t make sense, but I have no experience with Rockford head units

Maybe @Wylie_Tunes has more detailed on the inputs and zones of this unit

That is strange. You shouldn't be able to turn the amp on/off manually. The amp should go on/off with the head unit. It almost sounds like the amp is separate from the head unit or the BT is separate.

How exactly is your system connected? Meaning do you switch everything from the head unit directly or is the BT separate from the head unit?

I’m having the same problem. The unit recognizes the iPhone through Bluetooth (it shows the correct song playing etc) but no music plays. The FM stations play without problems. Perhaps the gain needs to be increased per the manual?

I wonder if you have something like this installed, https://rockfordfosgate.com/products/details/rfbtrca/, this allows you to use Bluetooth via RCA outputs. There is a blue wire that should run from the head unit to the amp which will make the amplifier power on with the stereo simultaneously, I am not sure why you would need to power the amp separately.
