I'll be visiting my parents in Prudenville, MI this weekend (Aug 8 - 10) and was wondering how busy Higgins Lake is on the weekends. Will I need to get there early for a parking spot at any of the ramps? I'd hate to get up there and not be able to launch. Now I just need to hope the weather is nice.

Brad, your avatar picture looks like it was taken on Lake Michigan outside of the Muskegon channel. That's where I do most boating.

Cool !

Thats exactly where it was taken. We took a camping trip over to Muskegon back in 2006, it was our first time out in the big lake. Kinda rough the first day out, kids had a ball hopping the waves. Second day was more calm and we headed up to White Lake just for a quick cruise. Boating on the little inland lakes around my house has never been the same after being out there.

Next time you make it out to the Big Lake, shoot me a PM, we are out there often.

Well, in regards to Higgins Lake, getting a parking spot wasn't a problem...it was windy and cold. Since I trailered the boat 2.5 hours to get there, there was no way that I was leaving without taking the boat out.

Higgins is a great lake but the water can be cold. Is Grass lake on the west side of Michigan?
