I guess all you can do now is get your dink out. That dont dound right.

Hope you're boats okay!

What happened.!!!! Pics when an' if ya can? Is the boat still secured?

Boats all good.

They have been seeking approval for a number of years to expand the marina. So maintenance has not been a priority. We havd a storm a 2 weeks back, and a couple of pylons snapped, which badly twsted the walkway, so they closed it down. They had the barge in last week, and removed the walkway etc, this week I guess they will start to remove the pylons, they say they will have the walkway back in by Christmas, we'll see.

Its really weird have a floating finger wharf, sitting out in the middle of the bay! And an absolute PIA. Had an unpleasant converstaion with them yesterday. They are offering a tender service out to the wharf whilst the work is done, my wife commented that we should be getting a discount for the inconvenience, the instant reply was "we'll understand if you want to leave or go elsewhere whilst the work is done" WTF! I couldnt believe it, 3 year tenant, that they have never once had to ask for payment, definately spend more at the fuel wharf then any other tenant they have, only slips and antifouls there. Yet they are happier to lose 3 months berthing fees and potientally a long term customer.

I actually went home and spent the afternoon researching other marina's to remind myself what I already knew, why I put up with this marina. Carparking, carparking, carparking and oh did I mention carparking, and no dirty great big hill to walk down.

When that stuff happens it always feels like I've been challenged...I'll show that MF'er, then I settle down and think it over.:smt043 Glad your boats OK, was hard to tell what was going on from your first post.

Good customer service there Ian. I really can't understand their why they would offer a discount. I would move out of principal. I am spending time at St George Motor Boat club over Christmas, they have always been really great to me. I did spend a few months at RMYC Port Hacking but found it too exposed and windy. In that storm there was a Wellcraft on the motor boat club mooring that sank and another older Fastlane on F Arm that partially sunk.

The St George Club looks really nice, they have done a great job of doing the marina up.
3 downfalls for me though unfortunately.
Botany Bay
Distance from the marina to Botany Heads, remember I head out to sea a lot.
Distance from home.

Noticed on their site yesterday, that the cafe is dog friendly, also a friends son is the chef there, so we may have to head down there one morning

Ian, I've often found that my first reaction isn't naturally the best thing to do. Some times it's tough to take a step back and regroup before taking action, but in your case you probably did the right thing.

In a calmer moment you might approach them again to see about getting "something" for your inconvenience. They're probably watching the pennies since they're now having to do a larger repair/improvement project so if you could come up with something you could use that wouldn't cost them a fortune it might work.

Ian, the Cafe is great.the food is really good and as you said dog friendly. The Cafe is licensed as they still have the bar at the back. It is great for breakfast if staying on the boat. When they first opened, they started at 5:30 so I could call through for egg and bacon roll and a coffee before work.

Cough, its a hobby for them............

Update, they are progressing well with the demolition side of the rebuild. I would think that will be close to having all the poles removed by tomorrow.

How's it goin' now? Great start to your summer. Can you tie your dinghy up to the main wharf or something on the shoreline and get to your boat that way?

Well so far hasnt affected us Chris................Dad in hospital now for 8 weeks, going home today with in home support. A weekend on the Gold Coast looking at boats. Heather in hospital this weekend to get some electrical probes inserted into her back for a trial. Ended up stuck on the slip all last weekend...weather was crap anyway.

Hoping to actually get out to this weekend and finish wiring up the underwater lights.

They are running the work boat as a tender to the wharf, the marina owner has given us his mobile number, and I have dropped my tender down and stored it in the tender rack.

I noticed today they were thumping the new poles in, so they are pretty well on track. Their aim is to finish by Christmas. Then some time next year we will be affected for a few months again when they demolish the first part of the arm and replace it.
