WD40 or fogging oil down spark plug holes

If I fogged, which I don't anymore, it would be fogging oil or 15-20 weight oil.

I have never sprayed down the cylinders either.

Never had a problem.

I have used transmission fluid for years to fog my engine in the boat my Harley and my Corvette after I fog down the engine I remove all the spark plugs and put alittle fluid down each spark plug hole Has not failed me yet

why don't you fog?

I heavily treat my fuel with Stabil prior to putting the boat away. I store inside a heated building and the prevailing practice here is to store boats without fogging. I've not fogged a motor in 20 years and have had no problems. I did store a car in an unheated barn and fogged that engine. Condensation caused by temperature swings is the real culprit and we don't have that with the temps in the 50s. Stabil is felt to be a good approach in these conditions.

Use fogging oil. The stuff dries to a thick gummy coating that dissolves and burns off easily. But until it burns off, it sticks to everything and does not run. WD40 forms too thin of a coating, as does transmission fluid, etc. It's cheap, it works, and the spray cans make it easy to use. What more can you ask?

Best regards,
Frank
