Welcome to the site!

First rule, nothing is ever "cheap" or "easy"... LOL

When you rub your hand over the boat does it turn white? If yes, then you have a lot of work ahead of you to make it shine. Clean the surface really good. When dry, you will have to use a heavy duty compound, follow up with a polish and then wax. Use the search feature, its very helpful in finding answers. There a a ton of threads on this subject.

My Boat was just like yours. This is what I did.

Go to Harbor Frieght Tools and get this:

Then go to Wal-Mart and get:

Then get some of this:

No white comes off when i rub my hand across it. Its just a little dull.

There is tons of threads on this topic that will give you a great education on the in's and out's of getting the shine back. Its not a put off to suggest to search this site and read but a good recommendation as there's a lot of good stuff.

One suggestion: don't try to make it easy or fast. Figure out the best plan of attack and do it right. Take the time necessary. If you have pride in your boat, you will be glad you did. Otherwise, it floats just fine with dull fiberglass.
