Water under fridge on 40 Dancer

I am posting for a friend who has the same boat as I. 1998 40 Sundancer. He came to his boat to find wet carpet in front of the fridge and an inch of water underneath the fridge itself. He did not lose power, as indicated by the ice in his icemaker still being individual. The fridge also seems to be working fine.
We have had a lot of rain, but I don't know where a leak would come from that would end up there. I am stumped. Has anyone had this happen?

Is the freezer icing up and dripping into the fridge? An inch of water is a lot. Can you tell if it's from fresh water, rain, or some leak in the hull?

I am suspicious of the freezer too. He'll know more once he pulls the fridge out. Thanks.

Ok, but you shouldn't need to pull the fridge to see if the freezer is the culprit.

What type of fridge? We had this problem for quite some time until I took everythin gout and did a careful inspection and saw that my model has a thin plastic condensation tray in the back which the prior owner installed UPSIDE DOWN! Result is that it didn't catch any of the condensation.. but my salon rug did...
