What's the best thing to use to remove water spots from a glass windshield?

First off how bad are they? Just a few, or can't see through the glass? Hard water spots? Second, we've been cleaning glass since 1985, not much removes water spots and it is very important to wipe everything down after washing, boat, car, or even shower glass. VA has very hard water, our area is the worst.

Once you get them off try Rain-x I have used it for years and love it. Put 2 coats on after windows are clean then add another a couple of weeks later. helps with salt as well. makes keeping windows clean a lot easier.

Don't wince now..... a soaked SOS pad works wonders. It doesn't scratch the glass, just clean it normally afterwards. We use it in the auto industry also for removing overspray from glass after a vehicle has come out of a body shop....you know that fine stuff that creeps under the paper.

On my own boat last season my glass had almost a hard dried accumulated coating of guk on it that nothing would take off so I used a razor blade, then SOS pad then glass cleaner & they shone like mirrors

Vinegar. Straight up.

Or use a product called CLR. Either works well.

+1....I would just clarify that you should use white vinegar.

I always dilute mine to 3:1 vinegar and water. The CLR always worked too if the spots were too strong for vinegar.

+1 on the Rain-X. I do the same.

Would vinegar or CLR work on Strataglass, or are they too strong?

Thanks, Art

Product called SNP phone# 866-842-8530. 2 part product, spot remover and a glass sealer to follow
It's the real deal, house hold products, are no comparison

I've had good luck with the Ducky line of products.

Did a terrific job on the windows.

This stuff is supposed to be safe for gelcoat, and I used it on my boat before going back with a cleaner wax. The cleaner wax was having a tough time getting through the water spots.

I tried using white vinegar, even full strength, and didn't have much luck with it compared to what this did.

thanks for the thread- on my new 470 the Taylor glas is simply terrible. I can't get it cleanno matter how hard I try. I did have at least marginal success with vinegar out of a spray bottle, but even that didn't really do the job. Does anyone know if there is any kind of factory crap on a new tempered glass window? Other than some mechanical/software issues relative to the Pods, nothing made me swear more all summer than the darn glass. I'll look into some of the products suggested as well, thanks..don
