Wondering what the "normal" range is for a 4.3 MPI?
On the muffs yesterday I noticed 0.6 PSI at idle and about 1.6PSI bumping the throttle up a little.
I am also wondering if there is a correlation between the PSI and the impeller life?:huh:

Yes there is a correlation between impeller life and psi - yours are reading lower than a new impeller. With new impellers at idle you can get as much as .9 to 1.2 psi - on plane when I replaced my impellers my psi jumped 4 psi and my impellers where not torn up. You could tell they had formed a "set" which prevented them from performing to their best. If it has been 2 to 3 years since you replaced - it is probably time.

Mine is .6 psi @ idle too. My 2006 5.0MPI/Alpha One has about 75hrs on it. Still holds at 160*f but it's on my to-do list.

My '05 has about 54 hours on it....Planning to double that this year due to having the boat in a slip this year......18 month old makes ya bring a lot o crap along so this should be much easier!!!

Yes, that was with the muffs. I'm wondering what it will read in the lake at idle and up on plane.

Funny, my girlfriend makes me bring a lot of crap too!
