Yesterday when I came into the "dirty" river, I noticed water PSI on my port engine drop to almost nothing. the engine temperature never changed. Figuring something was stuck on my drive, I put it in reverse a bit and lifted and dropped the trim. From there, the PSI went up significantly, but I did notice there is a differential about 1.0-1.5 at high RPMs. i.e. starboard will read 10.0 and port will read 8.5. Again, no difference in temperature. My impellers have less than 5 hours on them this season.

Should I worry about this like everything else-- is there a way to check any strainer or anything myself? Is the pressure enough without the temperature moving that it is not a big deal?

I also had the alternator wire connection break off on that same engine at around the same time (after traveling through some heavy waves). Interesting, my starboard alternator wire broke off last year. The metal clip is not very strong I noticed.

I presume you are getting the info from your smartcraft display?

My 340 has always shown a differential of a few psi between the port & starboard engines.
I switched out impellers and there was still the same difference.

Was there a difference before you changed impellers? What rpm were the readings taken at?

I really wouldn't worry about it if your temp is fine.
