While running my engines I noticed that on my strbd outdrive the water coming out of it was pretty weak. Actually very little coming from the strbd side of the outdrive. So I decided to replace the impellers. Once I got it all apart, the impeller did not look to bad. I put the new impeller in and reinstalled everything. Restart the engine and still very little water flow coming from the strbd side of the outdrive. The port side of that outdrive had the normal flow. Is this a cause for concern?

I assume you are referring to the idle exhaust port. Did you check to see if something was blocking the one with the lesser flow?

It may or may not be cause for concern. Was there "extra" water coming from the port side of the drive? It really does not matter which side of the drive the water pours out from. If the total for the starboard drive looks about the same as the port side, then all is likely well.

Did you replace just the impeller, or also the wear plate?

You can check for water flow to the t-stat (and compare port to starboard) housing by removing the water inlet hose and running the engine for 30 seconds (cold engine).

Yes the idle exhaust.

I replaced the wear plate also. It seams to run fine. When in the water.
