Water outside the shower door

Recently noticed that the carpet in my cabin on my 280 Sundancer was wet just outside the shower door at the bottom of the steps. Noticed it initially after someone showered. Had my marina look into it & was told my shower door is warped and that's the source. Not so sure.

1. What other things should I check as possible source of water in that area?

2. Where could I get a replacement door for the shower if that turns out to be it?

Thanks

Doesn't the 280 have a shower curtain for the door like my 260DA has? Without that curtain water would leak out onto the floor in my boat.

+1 on the shower curtain. You need to use one.

It does have a shower curtain & we do use it but of course my kids aren't necessarily reliable at doing so. This is why intitially I thought it was due to one my kids having used the shower & causing water to get out. However I noticed it a second time & wasn't convinced it was due to water getting out of the shower so I was inquiring as to other possible culprits.

I believe the shower sump on a 280DA is under the cabin steps (just like on my 260DA) and just like the 260DA, if the bilge pump inside fails, the sump box will overflow and soak the carpeting. You might want to check that out as the next likely culprit.

you may want to check few things: silicone along floor and walls - if cracked will leak to cabin, seal around floor drain, loose clamp or cracked drain hose (difficult to reach under floor), broken seal around porthole (water gets between wall and hull and ends-up on cabin floor)

I had the bad caulking problem around the base of the shower in my 260DA that boatmailster mentions and it caused my carpet to get wet.

I owned a 260 for several years and found that the water leached into the cabin from the carpet which was not entirely isolated from the water level as it rose when the sump was not operating properly. It is a poor design that could be easily fixed ! Mine was a 2002 and if yours is newer it may be considered a 280 with the same issues.

Why replace the door? I had water from the shower making its way into the storage cabinet (and soaking the TP mounted to the back of door). Added some rubber gasket material around perimeter of door frame (from Lowes) and end of problem.

Where do you get a shower curtain for a 280? Just noticed my new to me 2004 has a curtain track a loop to tie it back but no curtain. Do they initially come with them. This is an almost new never used boat and everything else was where it should be or still new in the package. It was never even slept on. Anyway look like I have to source one.
