Hi All.

Just noticed water leaks into the cabin after heavy rains. Accumulations big enough to make the carpet "squishhh" when pressing it. Location is front of the bed STBD side at the base of the stair in front of the V-Berth hanging locker. Can feel humidity in the hanging locker as well.

Any idea where the water is coming in from ? Could it be a seal on one of the skylight or the deck hatch ? Where could the leak be to only wetten the STBD side ? Could it come in from the anchor storage locker ?

Marine survey found higher than normal humidity level aroud Port side wiper base... could it be the cause ? I can't see how since wrong side of boat and opposite end....

Any suggestions appreciated....

I have a 270 with the same problem. Here is what I discovered. I actually have a leak on one of the opening windows on the windshield. The window needs resealed. The water pools where the windshield meets the bow of the boat. That water leaks into the cabin. Do you have a waterspot on the ceiling of your cabin?

no water spot, and the way the boat is tilted, don't see how the water could move up against gravity, has to be from a higher point. The rub-rail is the cause I think, I'll look into it this w-e.

tks.

My anchor locker was leaking in to my v-berth on my 2002 280DA. It turned out to be one of the drain holes in the bottom of the locker was drilled incorrectly and water was leaking in to the V-berth. I just calked the hole closed that was leaking and it fixed the problem. Have someone squirt a hose in the anchor locker while you are inside the boat and look for the leak. I was told that this was a factory defect from Sea Ray and they drilled the hole drilled at the wrong angle and opened up a passage way to the inside of the boat.

Mine is supposedly fixed, under warranty over the winter lay-up. The dealer indicated that the (missing) set screw (inside the black latch) in the reward window, stbd side was the issue. Only came in under severe rains last season (or when I sprayed witha a hose. I actually had water gather in the corner cabinet, sufficient that they began to delaminate (also fixed). I won't see the boat until 5/16 - to know for sure. But they took cabinates out to repair them and also better diagnose the boat while spaying and never got any more water in. Hope it works out! Good Luck, Ray
