In our 2006 38 sea ray, we have had problems with the aft cabin getting wet, although we fixed the pump, water will build into the starboard panel, underneath the power panel, especially after traveling in rough seas. Any ideas about how this could happen?

may I suggest other possible reasons

1) behind and above the electrical panel, you can see the the bolts and backing plate for the stanchion... maybe it wasn't sealed, or has become loose, and when rough seas hit you abeam it may be leaking... try running water above on the gunnel by the stanchions...

2) try the running water around the base of the windshield frame, maybe it needs to be resealed...

Are you running with the AC on? The hose to the shower sump could be blocked from the drip (condensate) tray under the mid-ship AC unit (located under salon bench). If this overflows and/or gets splashed out when running in rough water it could be your source. Is it wet after a rain? if so see OCTO above. Good Luck hunting it down - Jeff

thanks for suggestions aft cabin has been day all summer with trips to MV Cuttyhunk Boston trip back from Maine aft cabin carpet wet and stined. water in starbord side adjcent to shower box compartment where sump is located sump area dry?????

it is going to be difficult to find - you wrote that happens a lot after trips. it is possible that water enter through leaky porthole, loose rub-rail, loose stanchion etc. and because boat is underway water will go to lowest point on the boat and ends-up in aft cabin. once everything is dry try to spray the boat with garden hose and look for possible leaks.
