Hello to all....:smt001

I am in need of some help diagnosing a bit on an issue I am having. I spent the majority of yesterday getting our 1995 175 (3.0L Alpha 1) ready for the season. Changed the oil, gear lube, toped off fluids and checked the impeller. When we got her open the impeller looked in good shape as did the seals and everything else, but went ahead and changed it out for good measure. Not sure if any of this has anything to do with my issue but I figured I'd lay it all out there. That was the first time I had done the impeller so for all I know we may have caused the issue.

Onto the issue at hand...

As I got her fired up today in the driveway and she was running well. Just as I got that feeling that everything was perfect (I should have known better :smt021) I noticed an issue. As I had her running for a couple minutes (hooked up to the hose) I checked around to make sure all was well when I realized I had some water in the bilge. I drained it out and got it completely dry to start from scratch to see if I could figure out the issue. Ran the hose for a couple minutes without the engine running and all was well. As soon as I fired up the engine I could see the water start to fill the bilge. It was not as if a hose was just poring water in but after a couple minutes it was clear to see that there is a leak of some kind.

I have never dealt with an issue like this and I'm looking for any thoughts on how to diagnose the issue. I looked around and initially didn't see any obvious place the water was leaking from. It appears to be starting at the very back of the engine bay.

If I'm honest I don't really have a good working knowledge of how the cooling system works so it makes it more difficult for me to problem solve. Not knowing where the water lines run, in addition that it all seems to be happening way in the back where I can't see certainly doesn't help. If the issue is back there it seems as if this could be a difficult problem to fix even if its nothing more then a loose hose.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you guys have!

Robb
