Water Leak in Heavy Rain

Hi All, I've got a 1989 340 EC. I'm getting water stains in 2 places in heavy rains. The first spot is right above the galley. My headliner is showing signs of water intrusion. My horn is right above that spot but I have recaulked them already without any help. The second spot is in the forward closet on the port side.

I know these 2 spots were very common leak spots on these boats but I have not been able to find the source. Has anyone else had this same problem and found a cure?

Thanks

Don't assume the galley leak is the horn. It may well be but it could also be the windshield screw holes. The leak by the foreward rail could be bow rail through bolts that need re-bedding, a leak caused by hard docking, water coming over the bow into the rope locker and running along a joint or the deck/hull joint failing due to flexing in heavy seas. I owned a new 37 that leaked badly on the port forward side from day one. We could never really find the pont of entry after hundreds of dollars spent over 10 years. We could stop it by working on the hull joint (removing rub rail and resealing), but it always returned. Rough seas generally produced the leak. I finally concluded the hull joint was a poor design and not very strong. Leaks are very frustrating.

Thanks for the advice.

I've already recaulked not only the windshield screws but the windshield frame where it meets the deck also.

The water obviously has to be coming from above and there are only so many places it can be coming from but I just can't seem to find it. :smt013 :smt100

I looked at a lot of these boats and I know this was a common problem for them. Has anyone found a cure? This thing is driving me nuts :smt101
