This weekend I went to lower the drive unit and it didn't go down. I tried pulling on it as someone pressed the button and nothing. I figured the cylinders were frozen. I took them apart so I could rebuild them and found water had gotten in and now the fluid has that milky look to it. I was thinking of hooking the lines back up to while I have the internals out of it, putting the housings into a bucket and hitting the switch to pump out all the old fluid. Good or bad idea?

just use a catch can and hit the trim button to empty the pump res then refill the res and hit up until clean oil and then down until clean oil, fill res .
