newbie here! not sure this is the place to ask but I'm getting 2-3 gallons of water in the bilge of my 2007 sea ray 270 slx after spending a day on the lake.
can't see where it's coming from. any suggestions?

1. Get the boat out of the water. (I assume you did this already)

2. Make sure the bilge pump works. It should kick on automatically with that much water in the bilge.

3. Inspect the U-joint and shift cable bellows. If they are 2007 originals, they probably need to be replaced.

4. When you are back In the water, find a quiet time, shut everything off, stick your head in there and listen for water leaks.

5. Check all engine hose connections. Any Loose or missing clamps?

6. Don’t forget about the fresh water tank and lines. Maybe there’s a leak there.

Are people swimming, then boarding? I used to get lots of water when pulling lots of people all day long in my ski boat.

I thought that might be the problem early on but the last time we went out, it was chilly, mid 50s, nobody got in the water and still had water in the bilge when we returned home.
I appreciate you responding!

My 270 DA did the same thing, but I found with more people in back of boat, I got more water. After standing in waist deep water and watching how boat sits, I realized that my steering pin was leaking when under water due to heavy load in rear. Hand held mirror inside of engine room confirmed the leak. $6500 later, all fixed.
