Figure this one out, I am pretty sure I have an oil cooler issue, because of the oil in the water out my exhaust, so on the way to have the cooler check I was only running the one motor just to be safe. 2 days later: I just checked the oil level and just found a huge amount of water in the bottom of the crank case, I have not run the engine.
I have since changed oil a few time and run it at the dock for a few minutes and seems ok oil preasure good... other than the same problem of oil slick out back. Question Could have not running the engine and traveling at 8 knots caused water to fill up the crank case through the damaged oil cooler ?

Hey goody,

I would say you are right about the cooler issue.... when running the oil pressure will be pushing oil into the raw water circuit and out your exhaust. You should notice your oil qty drop?
When you shut down, no oil pressure and if your hull water level is above the engine it may well push water into your sump.
Have a look at "MILKY OIL" on page 2 of "new posts 24 hrs".
All the best.

Edit: Just been to milky oil and I see you there...

This happened to me. The oil cooler failed and I used lots of oil. When I shut things before I figured what was going on water got sucked into the oil. I changed all hoses and coolers on both engines. Water in the oil did not seem to damage the engine.
