I have a 1997 330 Sundancer. The last two times I've been out to my boat I arrived to find a water settling in on the mid-cabin floor. Originally I thought I had a problem with a sump pump located below the floor right in front of the galley. I thought I corrected that problem, apparently not.

I'm having trouble figuring out where the water to that sump pump is coming from - the lines indicated it's from someplace forward of the galley. Evey placed I checked looked dry. And, I'm not convinced the pump is causing this problem. But, that area where the pump is located accumluates water too.

Anyone have any ideas what this sump pump is draining?

Have you had rain or has the boat been washed prior to this occurring? Often this occurs due to screws needing to be tightened on the portholes.

Remote possibility...have you checked the connection fittings in your water supply? There are some sections where the water lines to the "faucets" become undone or the original clamp seal becomes weakened or the hose pulls from it. I once had a few inches of water in our cabin stepwell when one of the clamp fittings failed.

Had a similar situation. Turned out the sump for the shower was not fully discharging and had no check valve in the line that goes to the emergency bilge line behind the shower sump. Combination problem. 1. Make sure the bilge pump in the shower box is working properly and 2. make sure you have a check valve.

Water is sneaky, especially when this happens and it dries before you get back to the boat. Sounds silly, but I placed squares of toilet paper everywhere I thought the water could be coming from. When I returned to the boat I traced the leak to a porthole that needed to be re-bed.

We had water in our mid-berth. I crawled over and under everything. I hosed down the entire outside and had three or four "sure" possibilities about where the water was coming from. I was mentally ready to have the whole rub rail re-caulked.

The service dude came down to take a look. It took him 30 seconds to find that the screws dogging down a port hole were not tight enough. Tight screws = no leak.
