i've had my boat in dry storage for 13 months now, but the last time i had it in the water, i hit something solid that put a nice crack in the floorboard which starts at the bottom of the extreme rear floor (under the hydraulic pump for the up/down prop.) and extends in a straight line for approx. 20 +/-" to the front protion of where the battery mount was originally installed.

that night, i left the boat moored uncovered to a pier and it rained all night. the water level got high enough to cover this area and i suppose it took on water all night. as you can tell, while not a complete idiot, i know nothing about this problem. since this is a raised area (approximately 6" +/-) above the remainder of the floorboard, is it possible that water is trapped in "only this approx. 2'x2'x6" area beneath the battery compartment" or is the problem not that simple and where is it? if it has been in dry storage for 13 months, is it possible the water somehow is gone by now? or where do i start drilling holes? any useful information would be a great help. it's my kids birthday coming up and they want to go out in the boat! would it be safe to just use it like it is for a few days just so i didn't let any more water accumulate in it and do a permanent repair over the winter. i need a quick fix for now and any information would be helpful.
