I just purchased a boat and it was out in the rain a few days before shipping and also during shipping. When it arrived I noticed the floor by the back couch to be sopping wet. I’m going to bring the wet dry vac tomorrow to get most of the water out.
Any ideas why the back floor would have gotten so wet?

Thanks,
Ray

Common problem. If it's rainwater, it came in from somewhere and pooled up in that area because it's a low point.

When it happened to me, it was because one of the kids left a porthole window open (slightly), and the water was able to get in and run down the sides of the hull and it all ended up in the mid cabin at the low point. A good shop vac will get it out but then I left a fan going for a week since the vac will only get so much.

Besides the windows, there are several places where the rain could be getting in. If it's not in the water yet this will be easier, but unless you find something easy like a window open or hatch not quite sealing, a good bet is to use a hose to spray different places while you have someone inside looking for the leak.

It took the red path:

When my port window leaked, it was wet by the long couch. Was the water on (either city connection or pump)? When my water heater had a pipe come loose and start leaking, the aft couch floor got wet….

The gasket for my port light had been smashed by the PO leaving the screens in all the time. I used some quarters between the dog latches and the glass to create enough pressure, they were adjusted as tight as they could go. I then changed out the gasket on the window, no issues. Need to do the other 3 this summer.

Wet-vac the aft cabin bilge. The pump clears the water up the hose but it has a check valve that will leak causing the bilge to refill again with the same water. Drove me nuts for days until we figured it out!

I just want to remind you that the above are individual experiences with water intrusion, none of which might be you're issue. The bottom line is you need to get in there and do your own detective work.

Check the hot water heater that is under the back couch.

Thanks for the responses. I went up and found a small leak on the line connected to the hot water heater. I fixed it and cleaned up the water.
Praying I don’t go up there in a few days and have water again.
