I would suspect PSS shaft seals leaking while underway. Need to be cleaned or adjusted. When leaking they will be throwing water on the bottom of the oil pans causing them to rust out and require engine removal to replace the oil pans. Get them fixed.
The shafts are meant to leak a little (packing) most of the time a day after a good run mine stop dripping. Is it in the rear or towards the front? Front would lead me to the raw water pump or its hose. Mine was the hose. FWC or Raw?
Closed system, raw water risers and manifolds.had all new seals put on over winter, rudder shafts repacked too.about 5 gallons sucked out with shop vac.ran engines at dock to about 3500 rpm no water anywhere!!
Mine is doing the same thing, dry as a bone sitting then wet after a good run. Thing is it takes a good run on the water. All I can say is check all the hoses and hose clamps. As I said mine was the hose that leads from the strainer to the raw water pump but now I'm unsure. All my water settles to the rear. We did find that the zinc bar bolts were leaking and a fresh water line was leaking. Both were repaired and I still have the issue
I had the same problem on my previous boat. Sitting at idle or low rpm it was dry. Turned out the water pumps would leak at high rpm. Changed out and it was dry.
So you have a 2008 Sea Ray with conventional shaft packings?
They should be dripless shaft seals (they're not supposed to drip)
Would help if you posted info about your boat
