Where could fresh water come from that accumulated beneath salon hatches? Two shower sumps are working, but when I opened one hatch to store something, they were full of water. There's a small bilge ump aft of the shower sump pumps. It obviously isn't working, but where does water come from that it's suppose to remove?

If your 400DA is anything like my 370DA of similar vintage, check your hot water heater. I had the same problem this weekend and found that one of the fittings not the hot water heater was leaking. Once I put my hand on it, it burst filling the area with (thankfully) cold water.

If it's not that, check the sink drain in the galley.

Check the drain hose from the tray at the bottom of your air conditioner. My drain plug for the condensation was clogged, and the A/C condensation was collecting in the tray below the A/C unit and leaking into the bilge. You would not believe how much water collected in the bildge from that. Easy fix....snake the drain hose.

air conditioner hasn't been on, showers haven't been used, and only a small amount of water went into galley sink and yet after taking a one hour ride, we opened the hatch and it's full of water again. We did have heavy rain the night before but how would that find its way into hatches beneath the salon?

I had a similar problem with my 340, the water came from a broken discharge hose underneath the shower unit, for some reason the hose was clamped (sandwiched) between the bathroom unit and the floor making it to crack; chech underneath the bathroom area. also remove all the seats and check for water on either side as water moves all around

Also note that the bilge in that area is made to collect the moist and condensation of the cabin so it will always be wet, I would say that depending on the boat usage and how it is kept it should fill up once a week.
