I've got a little water sitting in the rear starboard part of my bilge, behind of the battery near the transom wall. I see a few things back there - raw water wash down seacock, bilge vent hose, gas fill is on that side, trim tab, etc..

It's not much water, maybe 0.5", but it doesn't make its way under the motor to the main bilge pump. I used a small portable pump to get it to the main bilge pump.

Should water back there drain under the motor? If so, any idea why it isn't?

Thanks,
Joe

mine has done that on the port side. on mine the 'ledge' where my batteries sit on the port side there is a slight 'dip' along the outer ledge wall and i sometimes have a little water laying there. usually its gone the next day so i'm guessing it runs down.

my bilge was bone dry all season until the weekend we pulled it. that weekend there was a little water in there to where it was visible in front of the engine but not high enough to trip the float. i pulled the plug after i got it on the trailer and there was about 1 cup of water in there. not sure if we got a harder rain at just the right angle that week or what happened?

Here's a quick picture to illustrate.

Not sure where it's coming from or where it's supposed to drain....

Was that similar to the picture I just posted?

Mine doesn't draining though -- just sits there...

mine is slightly different. my engine mount stringer is flush with the first ledge so it can run off into the center of the engine bay. i assume mine runs to the back along that channel and over along the transom to the center engine bay. my guess is mine is coming in from the blower vents or under the rub rail?

bump.

Anyone else dealt with this before?

I can't figure out why there would be a channel for water to pool with no way out.... Or is there a hard to see drain somewhere that's clogged?

Hard to tell from that picture but there could be 0.5" - 1" of water back there inside the vent tube..
