Water in #8 cylinder

Damn Zebra Mussels.
I knew they would do this crap sooner or later!

:)

Please have both heads rebuilt now. Don't put a strong head along side a weak one. You will be doing this again very shortly if you don't do them both now. When an engine over heats the leading edges of ports and holes become supper hot and then when they cool down they develop hair line cracks then next time the engine is warmed up o operating temp these edges flake off. Thats what you are seeing. Add salt water and the action is multiplied. Many high performance engine builder take much time to remove any " flashing" sharp adges so this affect is minimized if over heating occurs. Just my opinion.

Got the heads back from the machine shop at noon on Friday and had it running by 7:00 pm that night. We were able to enjoy the boat on Sat. and Sun. with no issues. Total cost was $660 in parts and a lifetime of beer for the labor. Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions!!
