Water entering engine compartment searay sundeck 220, 2006

Hi there,

Ok.... problem is that sea water is entering into engine compartment only a small leak but enough, the leaking actually stops when the stern drive is trimmed fully into the up position..any ideas greatly appreciated....thanks.

Can you spot the leak? Have you been in the bilge area actually seen the leak? My original thought would be the bellows, have you inspected each of the bellows? Since the leak stops when trimmed, I would inspect them while the drive is down. Also turn all the way to each side so the bellows are more exposed.
Thats my initial guess with out knowing what engine drive combo you have.

Are you saying the leak stops when your trimed up, on plane running the boat across the water? Or just sitting there not running and have the out drive fully up in the trailer position? ...Ron
