Watch Hill, R.I. ....The Cut

Does anyone have experience using "the cut" to get into the Napatree Beach area?

Last weekend, we left Napatree through the cut, at high tide, and found that we were in about 6 FT of water through that area.

Anyone use that shortcut? Ever go through it at low tide?

I have a 38 Dancer, draws about 3 1/2 feet.

If by the "cut" you mean the quick right instead of going north and hooking back to the south.
I was told that local knowldge is helpful.
Last time in, I didn't risk it and went around.
