I am looking for some waste holding tank dimensions and gallon size for an 80s vintage 30 ft sundancer that is equipped with a generator. My boat came with a SANX waste treatment system with a very small 7 gallon tank. I need to replace it with a larger capacity, but wanted to see what othes had. Thanx in advance.

I don't have the genset so there is more room in my bilge, I'm also not sure if what I have is the OEM tank or a replacement. All that said my tank is 16 gal. BTW the boat has a Jabsco manual head. I like it, its simple, not much to break down and cheap to fix if it does.

Mine already has a vacuflush head, just the holding capicity is too small. Im going to try and get hold of IPROF, Im pretty sure Kens Sundancer has a gennie in it. There is not much room down there when these boats are gennie equipped. Hey, sorry I could not get the close up platform pics for you. They just come out so bright that you cant see anything.

I don't have a genny on my 87, and my waste tank is either 18 or 20 gallons.
I think you can download the manual for an 88 from the SeaRay wesbite. That should give you the specs. Let me know if you can't find it and I'lll look in my copy for you.

Take measurements of the maximum length x width x hieght you can fit in that spot then go to this site see whats available. www.tank-depot.com hope this helps. I found a 20 gallon that Iwas looking for .

Good morning JVM. I have all of my manuals, but mine only has info and specs. for the SAN-X system that was factory installed. My problem is, that there is only one area the new holding tank can go, between the port hull side and the gennie.

Thanks Pullin my dinghy. HMM..... Im not sure if I like the way that sounds. Anyways, That is what I will do. Im going to measure the area, then build a cardboard mockup tank to make sure it slides in without removing an engine or the gennie. Thanx again.

Thanx Jerry.

David and I exchanged e-mails on this thread, I do have the same boat with a factory installed generator. My holding tank is a 20 gallon tank, but there is no way to get it out with out removing the port engine. The tank is very square and has about 8" head room between it and the floor. We put our garbage bag there when on the hook. I will also take some pictures and post them this week.

Hi Ken. Yes youre correct, I cant get much of a holding tank in there without pulling the motor. Another obstical is the closed cooling heat exchangers mounted to the front of the motors. I made a cardboard mockup tank that measures 22" longX13" wideX 13" tall. It calculates out to about 14.5 gallons. It slides in, with removal of the generator muffler.

I contacted Plastic-Mart and they have a blank 3/8"" wall waste tank in the dimwnsions I need. They are sending me a diagram to fill out, showing all of the fitting locations. Not a huge tank, but better than the 7 gallon SAN-X system tank that I had. I will have the entire (working) SAN-X 1 system available. (Tank with macerator) (Chemical injection pump unit) (control panel) (Main brain) (overboad discharge pump) I will list these in the classified section of this site,

I have a suggestion for you, is there enough room to slide 2 tanks in. If you can get 2 in the size you measured then you can tie them together with a fitting at the sides or the ends. I wish my tank was 30 gallons, when you anchor out for a long period of time it would come in handy. When we had our Bayliner with the 13 gallon tank, we could not stay out for more then 5 days without getting a pump out, if our daughter came with us only 3 days. The holding tank is what controls how long you anchor out for, once it is full that's it.

I was thinking the same thing about using two tanks, but wont fit. I have 3 group 31 batteries on th starboard side and two more 31 on the port side next to the gennie. The stereo system beats em up pretty good! We stay on the boat every weekend, but thank god its only 2 to 3 days on the hook, and there are only the two of us. Our 268 only had a 6 gallon capacity, and last year on this boat we only had 7. A few times I had to pull the hook and run out to the discharge limit. (ocean) Only 5 miles. Having this new tank will better than double our capacity, Not what I was hoping for, but not bad.
