Has anyone run these snap in runners through the wash to clean them up? I am considering it today before heading to the boat and Great Lakes is closed on Friday???:smt101:smt024

Mine only have a few small stains, but overall I think they could us e a good wash. Maybe on Gentle Cycle??

Hey Scott,

We do ours on cold water/gentle cycle, normal detergent, and spray-and-wash on any spots. Don't put it in the dryer though - hang it on a deck rail to air dry....

No shrinkage so far...

We followed the Carter Chapman model, just didn't dry them and put them back very slightly damp.

We DO dry ours and we've not had shrinkage. I've washed/dried ours at least 5 times now with no problems. I actually like that they are slightly snug after the dryer -- not so snug that you can't snap them though. They look tight and wrinkle-free and they do loosen over time.

Awesome thanks! I am off to put them in the washer and get my snap tool as I am off to the boat to start installing new Dark Blue canvas today! Projects, projects, projects!

We wash them twice a summer or so in the washer and hang to dry as well. They come out perfect.

Did mine in the washer a few weeks ago, normal setting. Air dried then treated with 303 protectant. Really makes any spills bead right up.

The larger your boat , the worse the shrinkage factor comes into play. I can not re-install my runners if they are dry.......I have to wash them and take them to the boat and install them while they are still damp or I'd tear them trying to get the snaps to fit. The good thing is that when they are tight, they look much better and are not as prone to cause tripping.

They came out great, and dried very fast. i will hit them with some 303 at the dock. I went and got a "Little Green Machine" from Bissell to hit the carpet stuff which is small. I like a clean galley!

I've done the wash machine with detergent deal and dried them in a dryer set to cool air. Works fine. I've also spread them out on a clean drive way, hosed them down with cold water, poured Tide with Bleach right out of the bottle and scrubbed the heck out of them with clean push broom. Hose off and stick in the drier on cool air. Also works well.

we used LaFrance in the washing machine (thank God it is not made in France) and it works great.. air dired and of course the 303 no doubt !!

If you use any soap/chem be sure to flush the Green Machine well after each use. Either that or consider it a disposable. Its got the smallest water heater & water pump w/impeller you'll ever see! Once the soap dries in there the heater clogs & the pump locks up.

Will do! It does a good job on the carpets inside. The previous owner I think had something spill in the fridge and came out on the carpet right in front of the fridge. Just a few passes and the carpet looks great!
