My stainless(?) hull fitting for my galley sink overboard has started to rust. It appears that it is actually rusting and not just a rusty water trail. What do you all think? Might this be covered by my hull warranty? (just hoping, though I doubt it will be)

I would like to think that SR would be good enough to simply offer to replace the offending thru-hull fitting. Problem solved, and much cheaper than fighting with a customer over a warranty claim. Give them a chance to make it right.

Post pic's pretty please!

Worth a call, don't procrastinate!

Sea Ray replaced a few in larger boats here on the coast...........but this is an entirely different area and you have a trailerable boat. Just be reasonable....... If the fitting is rusty because you never cleaned it then try to clean it up with a little mild acid (try Rustaid from Lowes or Whink fabric rust remover from the grocery store) and some compound and don't bother Sea Ray. Every one of these we can do ourselves helps keep the cost of new boats down in the future. Sea Ray absorbs the warranty accomodations in their overhead and it is a factor in future pricing.

I did try cleaning it up with no success with water and elbow grease. I have not tried using any type of acid or anything. I will call the dealer and see what they say. The thing I don't understand is why it is only one and not more are affected.
