Its getting Warmer her in Michigan, Boats are going in the water and firing up the engines, planned on taking Ambiance this weekend, but now they are calling for rain all weekend... Well it's better then Snow.

Wreckless, I didn't know your from Higgins Lake Michigan, Hell we take our Boat up there all the time, I'm sure you might have seen us up there, Its Great The DNR shuts the launch ramp down and blocks it off so we can put her in, she takes up the whole ramp. Normally we are up there on Fathers Day...weekend, and the 4th of July.. camping and boating, but not this year.....
Higgins Lake, 1 of the 7 wonders of the North...God I love that area...Do you Live up there..?

Rain or shine, I'll be at least washing the boat. If no rain, then wax!

Can't wait to be on the water!

Our cabin is up there and that is where my boat lives. So do you have any trips planned this year for Higgins?

I'm hoping for 12 hours of no rain sometime over the week end so I can wax. Splash should be Tuesday.

4 Hour run in western Lake Erie today. Had to take advantage of the above average temps and sunshine. Great to be back on the water

Tried to put in the St. Croix, ( Prescott WI) Thursday, and too much ice floating down the river. Hope to try late next week.

I plan to clean and go over systems this weekend. I just checked all the lights tonight and everything is working. Going into the ER tomorrow to check on hoses andclamps and belts, checking all oil and fluids accordingly. Can't wiat to get back on the Boat, even if it's only in my driveway. It's nice and warm up here today...

We get the boat out of storage on Monday and will have it put on the hard for a week. We are having the exterior detailed and the new navigation system has a little more work to be done. Also, there is some fiberglass/gel coat work that needs to be done on the instrument panel area. There was a computer mouse that was removed and the hole needs filled. When the weather is as nice as this it is hard to wait to get boating!

Oh well, it gives me time to get the 'honey do' list done around the house.

Twelve hours of compounding and waxing yesterday. Bottom gets painted tomorrow and then it's splash time. My back is talking to me.

Topsides Scrubbed and Cleaned.
Plugs, Wires, Rotors and Caps Replaced.
Bottom Painted and Hull Waxed last weekend.
Outdrives Primed and Painted yesterday.
Installed base mount on swim platform for InfraRed Grill yesterday.
Waiting for delivery of Blue LED Lights to be installed this week under swim platform.
Pictures to follow.
Splashing Thursday May 1 for run to Hammond!
11 Days and Counting!
Bring on the Warm Weather!

We brought the boat home last Friday night and it was blowing a stink. Took forever to set the lines and they are still not quite right. At least we had good weather on the day we waxed the hull. It's now back to cold and windy again. Yesterday we could not even get on the boat because the wind was pushing it so far away from the dock and we couldn't pull it over. Today is partly sunny, 47 degrees and was a good day for a nice long ride around the lake to see what has changed from last year. There are a fair number of new homes going up. Kind of surprising considering the housing crisis.

I went in early April. Interesting to me was the warmth of the lake - MUCH warmer than usual for this early in the year. But, sicne I have been in, haven't been out much. 2 river cruises for dinner - but that's it. Haven't gone out "on the lake" for a cruise to a different port. We haven't had any good weather! Today was supposed to be snow!! So I planned other things, and it turned otu nice. Oh well. But, as SBW said, saturday was crazy here - we had white caps and 1+ foot waves in our marina!!!!

Went camping with my oldest's scout troop to Indiana Dunes State Park in Chesterton, Indiana over the weekend. Saturday was beautiful during the day, but chilly at night - I keep forgetting how much I hate sleeping outside when its in the low 40's!! Some of the boys were daring enough to go swimming in Lake Michigan - ahh, the foolishness of youth!!

I launched on Friday... Life is good again! It was windy all weekend, but we managed to get the boat in her slip, and even went for a couple dinghy rides.

Splashed yesterday. Went for a short ride. Nice to finally be out there again.

Snow/rain mix in the short-term forecast!
