I am looking to buy a slide on davit either Nautley or Hurley in good condition to fit a 2005 Sea Ray 340 DA.

Thanks Gerald

Disregard this post as I just bought a new set of Nautley extended davits. I will install them next week.

Hey Gerald,
I'm about to do this same install and I have the same boat you do. You still happy with the Nautley system and when you say you have the extended you got the longer arms on the HD? How is clearance with your tender? Would appreciate any feedback you have. My tender is 10.5ft and worried about having enough space as well as having it look goofy given the 12' beam. Wish I had a 9.5ft like you.

Thanks,

Eric

I installed Nautley Davits last weekend. So far so good...

Here are some pictures of a caribe 10x on a 340da using the nautly davit.

No problems mounting the davits in the center instead of within 8" of the transom as per the instructions?

Nice, thanks for posting the pics! Assuming this must be the HD Extended....... HDR 402? Is the bow mounted higher than the stern? I measured my platform today and the depth of the platform varies from a little over 30" in the center to less than 22" closer to the edges. Looks like this was mounted slightly offset to the starbord side from centerline which would minimize the variance.

I think I'll order one up shortly. Also considering down-sizing from a 10' 6" RIB to an 8' RIB which would free up some room on the platform as well. Pleasantly surprised at how nice the 10' looks....... I was thinking it would look too big but it really looks good.

A few things to consider:
-Your swim platform is not 12 ft wide, yes your beam is but that is at the center of your boat
-Weight, lifting the dinghy onto the higher swim platform is not as easy as you think
-A 10 ft dinghy on a 340 is going to take up the entire platform, I had a 9 ft and it allowed access through the cockpit door
-You want the Nautley extended, this will give you more room between the transom locker and dinghy
- To retrieve the dinghy, pull the bow up on the swim platform and secure to cleat. Tie a line to the eye bolt on the far side of dinghy transom and route the line under the dinghy tube closest to the swim platform, this will give lifting leverage. Pull the stern up but be careful not to flip the dinghy.

Good luck!
