Annoyed at the idea of paying $159 for a one-time use snap in carpet tool.

Does anyone have one they'd like to rent, or sell and recoupe some of their money?

Spend the money, it's worth it if you have any amount of canvas. I have 150 snaps between 2 boats and use it at least once a month

Plus, your beer cost will go down when you add a snap here and there for your dock mates

Like others have said, you'll use it frequently. You'll always find yourself needing to replace a snap. It is one tool worth the investment.

I have the west marine version of that (it's probably the same one), and the tool works ok, despite being a bit on the flimsy side. The snaps that came in the kit were total garbage though. I still need to find some decent ones.

It is very cheap until an expensive piece of carpet or canvas is ruined, then not so much...

I'm using this, and it is a quality tool.

As others have said, you will need it after the carpet project....well worth adding it to the toolbox

My assumption was that the OP was referencing the Press-N-Snap.

As others have suggested get the good one and have it for when you need it.
