Looking to save a few bucks and I bet there are a few sitting around collecting dust. This is for the inner 2-3/4” nut. Not looking for wrench, just socket so I can use with impact and torque wrench. I’m in Northeastern NJ.

With a name like Racecarrich I bet you’ve got some tools.

I made 2 of these for myself. I used flat stock (3/4” wide) from Home Depot and a scrap piece of 3” exhaust pipe.

Make 3 boomerang shapes with the flat stock cut and bent to the proper length. Each boomerang covered 2 sides of the nut.

then I welded them together and onto the end of the 3” exhaust pipe.

Some flat plate and a 7/8” nut welded to the opposite end of the pipe and it was done.

Looking for a picture now.

I’ve got flat stock and a welder. Not sure about 3” exhaust scrap but might have something. Sounds like it’d be easier to fab if the nut wasn’t still on the outdrive.

To be honest, I’m not absolutely sure it’s worth the effort if I can pick up a used one. We’ll see if anyone has one laying around. Thanks for the idea.

I have one... pay the freight and it’s yours

Do you need the outer socket?.... both are brand new

PM me for particulars if interested

I bought one that is double ended for both nuts but it's a wrench so no way to use a torque wrench. I just tighten by feel and so far has worked but if you know where I can get one of these cheap I'd be interested so I can torque it properly.

weld a piece on to it so you can attach a torque wrench to it and if you have the wrench 90 degrees to piece torque reading will be what it reads on wrench, had to do that on some wrenches for older harleys to torque head bolts.

Might have to do that

Yes. 2 reasons, some of the impact can transfer through the prop shaft to the internals and threads can also seize...

No problem. I’ve got a very long 1/2” ratchet. IIRC it’s only 60 ft lbs or so.

Found some pics.

I'm also interested in picking up the socket for the inner nut. If anyone has an unneeded one, please me me know. Also need the smaller socket for the rear nut too. Thanks, Mike
