Want to play a game...?

Bill dont cheat! You're googling as we speak arent you???

Since when does Buffet induce vomitting??!!!

I swear Im not googling. I only did that line Hart gave because I had no idea at all. I really really know the song you want, I can taste it!! I can picture the album listing with the 3 songs per side...Im trying to grab that group of 3.

Boons Bane? Broones bane? Damn, Bane is in there!

CLose enough :smt100

VERY GOOD! You get a gold star!

Ah yes.. Broon's Bane it is, I believe... "Broon" is Terry Brown, their long-time producer(my take anyway)

Damn Drew, you're good!

What was Rush's only top 40 song?
Who is Skip Gildersleeve?

Gee Ron, Don't you have anything broken on your boat that you could be working on? You really are a bored ADD kid arn't cha??

Im taking two guesses on top 40, its either tom sawyer or new world man

No idea on Skip :-(

Couldn't find the whole Broon's Bane (other than a bunch of dorks who video'd themselves playing it) but there's a tiny snippet while Geddy introduces...

New World Man reached #21 on 10/9/82. It held a top 40 position for 6 weeks (I looked the details up but had the song that made itcommitted to memory)

Skip is one of their career roadies. I used to scour the credits of every album searching for what equipment they used, where they recorded, who catered the sessions (don't ask me that one!), etc. Typical HS loser devoted to his Rush albums.

Mark, I'm off on Fridays and it's too damn cold to even think about a boat. Look for worthless crap from me every Friday until around mid-March

Hey Ron..

Heh, Was gonna say Skip was the sound man, but now you mention it, I believe you're right..
As far as the typical HS loser devoted-type person..I might be guilty as charged!
Takes me back to the one of the first times I saw Rush live.. In Austin at, I believe it it was named, the City or Civic Auditorium on Town Lake. Walked up late with not too good seats, and some guy was scalping a pair of 2nd row seat tickets for an un-Godly high price of $12! Needless to say, we gave ours to someone else and strolled on in like we owned the place.
You could actually get away with taking cameras inside at that time, and I have a rockin' pic w/ both the boys playing their double-necks. Might have to dig it up and post it on here if it wouldn't offend anyone...

"I look to the sea, reflections in the waves spark my memory" Styx..come sail away.

I saw Rush a few times...1979 in Dayton, Ohio was a hell of a show.

Thanks for the vid...good stuff.

You do know too much about Rush! lol...but thats pretty cool, and far from a loser unless you were 40 years old and living at home doing that.

And dont worry about not being working on your boat every second. Having other interests is actually quite normal and fun. :smt001

I have a very similar picture! Ill dig mine out too, and post it here to piss all of the "non-boat related" people off!!!

Rush sucks live. I've seen them live several times and was disappointed at all of them. Great studio band, lifeless boring stage band.

Queen on the other hand. If you are into Queen, that was probably the best live show i've seen.

This should be very easy to any boater..

My personal anthem:

"the cannons don't thunder there's nothing to plunder, I am an ____ __ ______ __ ____

over forty victim of fate...

I agree... It should be easy to any boater (or drinker).

Matt,

You da man. Brought back my faith to this string. You guys know a little Buffet in Tennesee. That is my favorit Buffett song. "Mother Ocean"

How can song about plunder, ships, gittin drunk & fishing not be a top 10 boat song. Unfortunately, I am also pretty well in sync with the over 40 part as well. I have to look pretty far back. As a matter of fact, I can't name 1 Rush song. I feel like I must have missed out on something during my 40's.

It would have been the perfect boat song if it had just mentioned tequila.

Were ya really disappointed? Really? Ill agree they dont really jump around or have a stage show per se, but technically they sound fantastic and more raw, which I feel adds to their music.

Everyone SHOULD like Queen. I have to say they were their own genre of music, unlike really anyone else. Just dont play "we are the champions" anywhere near me though because I am completely sick of that song.
