Wakeboard tower install

Hello!
I recently bought a 1993 skiray. It came with a Titan series one tower that wasn’t mounted. I have finally located the mounting hardware and have it on its way. I’m looking for any pointers or recommendations! I’ve been quoted 900-1700$ install so apparently I’ll be doing it myself. Should I reenforce with fiberglass? Aluminum plate? Both? Please help!!!

Since the Ski Ray's of that vintage didn't come with factory towers you won't have any reinforcements pre-built into boat. You will want to fiberglass in aluminum backing plates at every pointing mount from the under side of the gunwale. Also make sure to slightly oversize the mounting hole through the gelcoat or at a minimum chamfer the holes to prevent spider cracks.
