Well suddenly my starboard tach has added 1000 RPM's to the needle. Even when it's off it now parks 1100 off where it was before. Someone said to check the coil connection; anyone else had this problem?
I've had this problem occasionally, usually solved by a few sharp taps with the knuckles. On a couple occasions I've had to pull the guage cluster and turn the cylinder selection switch on the back of the tach back & forth through it's range a couple times then reset it on 8. So far this has solved it for me (knock on wood.) If this doesn't fix it you've already got the guage cluster pulled so swapping the tachs would be an easy next step in isolating the problem.
