We are visiting daytona for a week in November with our friends who have a condo there & have a couple of questions

1. I believe the Canadian operators card allows me to operate a boat in Florida also....just want to confirm it

2. We want to rent a boat there but not a pontoon boat or a runabout, we'd like a decent size like a 34 to 40 footer. I googled boat rental places in Daytona & didnt really see anything like that unless you charter a boat with a captain which we dont want

If anyone could direct me to such a place that would be greatly appreciated, also any great places / marinas in the area to visit while on the water there

Thanks so much for any info

Daytona Beach Yacht Club is nice ... used to be a Chart House restaraunt there that was good.

I don't know about the rentals - sorry

As long as you were born before January 1, 1988, no license required.

I have been in the area a long time and I don't think you will find anything in the range you looking to rent. Jet skis and a few pontoon boats. The inter coastal navigation is relatively simple, however, in and around Ponce Inlet can be challenging. Moving sand bars and useless fixed shoal markers make local knowledge or water reading skills required.

To the North of Daytona -
