Thinking of attempting vinyl relacement myself. So for those of you who have "done it yourselves" were you satisfied with the final product or do you wish you'd paid a professional.

What type marine speakers are good

Biggest thing to ensure a good job I believe is having someone who can sew well. My wife is a "magician" on her sewing machines.

We reupholster a number of boats each year for others and I feel the quality of her workmanship is the biggest factor that makes or breaks the project.

Thankfully we haven't "broken" any projects yet and we're still maintaining a 100% customer satisfaction rate....and that's due in large part to her sewing skills.

I did Old Skool in new vinyl however I only used single color panels. I used the old ply wood as templates and a really good staple gun. You can tack glue the vinyl but i like to change colors from time to time and don't want to remake the wood panels.

If your doing cushions and such sewing skills are a must as Old Vet states. Type of vinyl is also critical. Whether it is for side panels or sitting on will make a difference in what you use.

Good luck with you project.

Hi....is there a particular brand or supplier for Sea Ray in mid nineties to try and get a close match color wise?

No comment on the vinyl, however to your second question - I like the Sony marine speakers. When I got this boat, all the previous Clarion speakers were toast - cones had all disintegrated. I replaced all the cockpit and bridge speakers (6 plus subwoofer) with Sony speakers.
