Anyone know of a vinyl lettering vendor that can match Pantone colors for the vinyl? I have a custom design for new boat name and want the colors to match the design.

Thanks for any assistance.

check with local sign companies
most do vinyl lettering too and have colors on rolls in thier shops

You likely will not be able to hit specific PMS colors with the stock vinyl substrates. You're probably looking at inkjet & laminate - they've gotten pretty good in terms of durability & colorfast. A good local shop that's willing to proof out your colors as small swatches before going full - on is likely your best bet. Have a chat with them, see what they want in terms of conversion (PMS to CMYK) and have fun. Show us photos of what you're come up with!

We can match pantone colors with digitally printed and I can get you pantone colors of the dyed material to see if the color matches already. My company website www.pinnaclesignworks.com

give me a call if you want but I know we are far away from you. I have done work with others on this site in Boston MA area I think it was.

For those interested...a couple pictures. The one showing the boat is photoshopped just for reference and the other is a .jpg version of the vector file. I really want to be able to match the colors and have the Pantone values.

FWIW, Here are some CMYK Conversions:
5395 Pantone Bridge: Cyan 100 Magenta 71 Yellow 39 Black 90
5395 Illustrator Build: C88.83 M72.98 Y55.87 K67.43
1655 Pantone Bridge: C0 M73 Y100 K00
1655 Illustrator Build: C0 M84.24 Y100 K0

Either color should be a pretty easy hit on a modern large format inkjet.

Check out Boat US Graphic. We redid the lettering on the back of the boat and I think we paid $70 for it. They were fast and they also will replace it if you make a mistake on the install. Also, if you are a Boat US member there is a 10% discount.

This is the new lettering for Dream Catcher that Boat US did for us. There are two different colors (Gold Back ground with Black on top)

Best option is to print on a pressure sensitive vinyl on a 8 color UV ink printer then laminate and die cut on plotter.

Those colors ought to be able to be matched with colors of vinyl which can last up to 12 years...anything on an inkjet printer isn't rated for much more than 3-5 years with a laminate. Go with the cut vinyl, you will be happier in the long run. There are not any 8 color ink jets out there so that isn't really an option, and again it will not last more than 5 years tops with either 4 color or 6 color. It is a simple design and cut vinyl is your answer.

Renaming ceremony completed this weekend. Custom designed name and graphics by a friend. Also took a cruise around manhattan.
