I just accepted the survey on a 2007 40 MY for purchase. One of the items I accepted to fix as the buyer was the broken VHF antenna. Its broken at the base of the mounting, dangling down, plastic area no metal destroyed. Obviously previous owner entered the covered slip without pulling it down. Does anyone have information what replacement part information I need to buy? Does the antenna base with cable fit into the existing metal mounting fixture? Thanks. Other questions in other subjects no doubt to come.

I'm sure there are a ton of options but the original one will be available from sea Ray. Register as the owner on sea rays website and you will have access to the parts manual. It has been hugely helpful to me, although it is an outflow of my wallet and Marine Max loves me.

Almost all marine ant use the same mount .The ant is not a sea ray specific item,
5202 or 5225 by Shakespeare or their Galaxy series

Looks like the shopping list for West Marine is mounting. Thanks for the info.

I will register, but found the 138 page parts list manual on line. I figured I can go to the OEM's first then to Sea Ray when no local parts are available.
Thanks

I replaced mine with a Shakespeare 5225 XT. It's a far better unit that the Glowmex Sea Ray used.

The factory wiring has a coupling to allow removal of the hard top, this reduces performance. It's pretty easy to make a strait run to the helm and the standard cable is just long enough.

When you install, check for water in the portside locker next to the helm, your off engine harness may be there and water isn't great...
