I'm hauling my boat this weekend for zinc replacements on a 07 44 sedan bridge. Does anyone know what size, kind, and location of the anode the vestus bow thruster takes? Just want to make sure I put the right one on there. Also, would there be a problem if I add an anode that may be bigger or slightly smaller to the hull and trim tabs? Would it hurt the boat?

Bow thruster zinc is way back in the tunnel and is a PIA to change. I let the yard do it. As for size of the others, judge the amount that's gone since you last changed and that will tell you if you should have more. Trim tabs shouldn't matter much since they're only on the top side.

It’s not all that difficult to change that zinc yourself. It’s located behind the plastic prop. The prop is held on with two plastic halves that are removed by taking out two Phillips head screws. There is also a pin in the shaft that locates and holds the prop in place so it spins with the shaft. That can be a little stubborn, but not impossible to remove.
You’ll see the zinc is held in place by two metric Allen head cap screws. Can’t remember the size offhand, think it might be #4, but if you have a set you’ll have the right size in it. The longer ones will be better and make it a little easier, but they’re not necessary if your Allen keys are shorter.
I get the zinc for my Vetus Bow Thruster from BoatZincs.com.
They sell an exact replacement on their website and it comes with two new Allen screws to retain it with.
It’s basically a 10 minute job unless the pin in the shaft is stubborn.
Get something in there so you can tap lightly on one side of it while pulling on the other side with a needle nose vice grip.
Spraying it first with PB Blaster helps.
Re: Larger zincs. I’m not an expert by any means but if you feel you need a bigger zinc on the hull or tabs then maybe you should talk to an expert to make sure you wouldn’t be over zincing in an attempt to address some other underlying problem.
My hull and tab zincs last the season. They certainly need to be changed when the boat comes out of the water at the end of the season, but not to the extent that I would think I need bigger ones.
I’m usually in the water about the first week in April and come out Thanksgiving week.

I Guess the thruster zinc depends on the thruster model. Mine is the same procedure as jvm225’s and is easy to change, exactly as he stated.
Looks like gmacd81 has a different model, than mine, can’t see my anode until the props off.

My Thruster is a Vetus 9524.

Same one here.
The same anode I use also fits the vetus 60,75, and 80, so assuming the procedure is the same if op’s thruster is one of those.

I know we have different boats, but I have a Vetus 160. It uses a BP-195 Zinc Anode for Vetus 125 and 160 Bow Thrusters (SET0151) from BoatZincs.com. Very easy to change - one hex screw. You can do it in the water....

Mines easy. Right behind the prop. Take off the bolt and there it is.
