Single 496 MAG
I have the Vesselview installed on my 2003 Sea Ray 280 with a single 496 MAG. I've never been able to figure out which alarms or otherwise I should block or disable based on the year and model of my engine. Anyone know how to figure that out? I believe mine is set to STBD engine, I haven't observed a means to change that so I hope that is correct.

Anything else I should know to make the Vesselview more valuable to use? Fuel doesn't seem to read anything correct either - not sure what settings I need to do other than state its a 100 gallon tank?

Also, any idea why my oil temp and water temp read 32F?

You need to set the tank volume. Then when you fill it the next time, you calibrate the tank by telling it it’s full. The 280 tank is only slightly tapered at the bottom, so it’s essentially a rectangular tank, so the empty, fill 25%, mark, add another 25%, mark and repeat until full process is not necessary.

I had the same thing With the stbd motor when I installed the sc5000 on our 280. But I bought that used and it had been configured on first startup as a twin set up. Is it possible you could have tripped the twin engine setting on first power up? I resolved it by calling Merc. There is a secret reset on the sc5000 that sets it back to a blank slate. The Published standard reset wouldn’t set it back to the fresh out of the box state. You might need to do the same thing with the VV.

Do you think the Vesselview mobile should be tied to the port engine vs. stbd if single engine?

VVM lists all single engine boats as starboard, if you switch it to port On a single engine setup all hell breaks loose. I would leave that alone.

The fuel has a totalizer so it will count down from your full volume. It displays your remains fuel on the home screen.

The VVM is pulling data from the engine computer, they did some squirrelly things in the analog/digital conversion of the gauges so it’s not unusual to have the fuel sender and trim not work properly. You should have engine temp/oil pressure though.
