VesselView 7 cuts out

@Shaps The new SD card you purchased.....is it the proper "Class" for the VV? When I was setting up my Garmin MFD, I wanted the biggest, baddest, fastest SD card I could buy. I bought an uber fast card. Sadly, it wasn't compatible with the MFD. Had to drop down a class in speed, but that fixed the issue.

And the SD card needs to be 512Mb or larger per the VV doc.

Too fast? Too big?

I did format the card. Windows10 gave me the choice of NTFS or something FAT ...
I went with the something FAT

I'll have to check what it was exactly but it definitely wasn't just FAT or FAT32

Edit:
I formatted it to xFAT

Will see if i can make it FAT32

Just upgraded from SC5000 to VV703. The SD card needs to be a 16gig. That is Mercs recommendation. As i did the same as above, got nice new 64gig and couldn't get it to work. Called Merc and first thing they asked was size of card and I got the 16, installed it and all issues resolved.
So far as the VV shutting down momentarily. I had the same issue with my SC5000. Figured doing the upgrade would get rid of it, NOT. Does the same with the VV. I dock buddy told me that the SmartCraft system is very power sensitive and that any decrease in power to the unit could cause it to "burp". Mine usually did the burb after we left a pier and i used the bow thruster, which as most know is a major amp draw. So I started running my genny when using the bow thruster and my burps stopped. Theory - the extra amps generated by the genny powering the converter provided more amps and the draw down wasn't as bad? Geez- I don't know- but I will take it.

Thanks Korkie.
I just formatted that 64gb card to FAT32. May have to stop and pick up a 16gb card on the way to the boat as a backup.

As far as power, I put my genset onto my NMEA2k network, which kind of coincided with this issue. I tried with it running and not running. Seeing as I wasn't experiencing this before, I took the gen off the network and still have the issue. Trying to remove variables. Have a few things to try tonight. Personally, I am hoping it is that camera checkbox...
Appreciate the help! Please keep em coming!

The 64 will not work. The largest they said would work was a 32, but they recommended a 16. My genny is not on my 2000 network. I run it for the amperage boost it supplies the 12v system through the converter. I really need to get a stand alone power source for my bow thruster. Maybe this off season. . . .

Thanks! Amazon delivering one on Saturday...

Hopefully this was the easiest, cheapest fix.
That camera option was selected. I unchecked it and took it for a ride. Screen didn't cut out. Could it be?!? I'll be out this weekend and hopefully that is the end of it.
@Korkie
The 64gb card works just needed to format it to FAT32 AS @alnav has said. I'll post the link to the utility later.

Edit:
Link for formatting an SD Card (or any drive larger than 32gb) to FAT32

My "camera" was checked also when I looked at that menu this morning - I unchecked. It hasn't had a negative effect however.
Now if you can figure why this Troll mode always shows in the System Tray and on the RPM scale I'd be forever grateful....

Tom,
I am going to try!!

Day 3 and that aberrant behavior has vanished. I couldn't be happier.
Guess there is validity to RTFM (Read The F#$ing Manual)

Tom, you may want to ask your cummins guy about the personality file that was uploaded. Mine thought there was some incorrect setting in one of them. (Evidently I have 13 personality modules)
