Vessel view 1.5 is not reading starboard engine. Looking for a replacement. Is a new version plug and play? Does it require additional harnesses?

I’m in a bind. The boat is going on the market and this just failed. We’ve swapped Medusa harness, sim modules, all the terminators and resistors, interface harnesses.

A new VesselView may well be plug and play, mine (VV4) was. But, it's dependent on what is already installed and many have reported having to change harnesses or add pieces to get a replacement to work. A new display is probably going to cost close to $2K and will have N2K capability, which you may or may not want or can even be used on your electronics.
I think if I were you I would consider installing a VesselView Mobile, they only cost a couple of hundred dollars. You would be able to demonstrate that the system works and let the new owner decide where to go from there. If the original electronics are still in place, I would guess most new owners will be of a mind to upgrade. They can decide whether and how much integration to put into their new system.
Another option would be to try to find a used but fully operable VV 1.5 via eBay or some other means.

It is odd that one engine is now not displaying. This isn't a typical indicator that the VV has failed. Both engine data are combined and communicate on Smartcraft CAN 1 network. There is a wire harness between the port and starboard J-boxes that tie Port and Starboard CAN 1 together before the VV. That interconnect should be on the Smartcraft J-Boxes under the helm and are connector pins J and K). The System Integration Modules are uniquely programmed (hardcoded) to which engine they are connected and that is what determines the incidence - they are different.
Each engine outputs SAE J1939 network data. You should see that data stream on that engine's 40 pin connector and on the engine's diag port (pins 03 and 05 on the 40 pin connector and pins C and D on the Cummins diag connector).

Did the system setup get scrambled in the VV somehow? Can you go in and do a master reset then set up everything again?

If the boat is in Florida contact Shearwater Marine in Stuart - they set up my boat when the ECM's and SIM's were replaced.

So we, and by we I mean my mechanic, have swapped all the port cables to starboard and no data. Starboard to port and data. Pretty much just throwing parts at it right now. Shearwater is trying to figure out what to do next. Spoke to Corey and Sbmarine and followed his recommendations and no luck. The only thing we haven’t done is swap out the VV 1.5. Trying to find a local boat with a similar VV so see if that works. Calling mercury on Monday and ordering the newer 703 with harnesses.

Incredibly frustrating to say the least.

I have an extra VV 7 that you are welcome to try. You'll have to come up to Merritt Island to borrow it. The guys at Shearwater (Bobby knew the Cummins/Smartcraft) did a great job getting my boat sorted.

Im driving to Orlando tomorrow and home Tuesday. If we haven’t figured it out by then I’ll swing by. I’ll have to get a harness from Merc I believe.

I'm pretty sure I have the harness that connect to the VV 7 also. I'll check.

Yup - I have the VV 8M0070647 adapter harness and the 8M0071222 Vessel View 7 Harness.
The only thing I don't see is the air temperature sensor.
