Hello all,
I have a 2001 380 dancer. The windshield vent seal is leaking and I have tried to find he replacement seal. I have called Marinemax and they have contacted Taylor Made to see if the seal is available. They got back to me today and said that the seal is no longer available.

So, any suggestions as to a repair, or does someone have a seal laying around that I could possibly purchase?

Thank you,

Bryan

Try contacting taylor made yourself

Agree.

If no joy, try a company like American Marine or Taco Metals. You'll probably need to take some pictures and measurements of the current seal to try and match it up to something they have. Possibly even a place like McMaster Carr.

Taylor did a "one off" run for the vent gasket for my old 2001 380. It's probably been five years ago so I don't recall the exact price. It was ridiculous though and the only option I could find. I posted about it a couple times on here so you may be able to find
it with the search function.

The Taylor Made seal is a one piece item, molded just for this application. There is no reason you couldn't go to a industrial rubber supply house, pick out the appropriate material, and make your own. Just measure, cut the 45 degrees angles, and glue it in place. I did see one for sale on Ebay once....

I replaced my vent seal with an automotive foam seal product. Its held in place with one sided tape. This was on the advise of Marine Max and Taylor Made. Just get the correct width for the frame and it should be fine. One thing for sure; it's easy to replace and not nearly as costly or time consuming as finding a seal no longer in production.

Brand, vendor and part number please?

Try Taylor Made Systems, I understand that is the division of Taylor Made that specializes in replacement windshields and parts. There was a recent episode of Ship Shape TV where they had the windshield of one of their project boats refirbished for about 1/2 the cost of a new one.

I have an 02 360DA and I just purchased the center vent gasket kit from a Sea Ray dealership after getting the part number direct from Taylor Made. It set me back 160$ with shipping.
Not sure if the 380 has the same center window as a 360 however.

See if I can find that stuff. Got it on line. Just search for the width and thickness you need. As long as it's industrial grade foam it should work great. The parts guys at the Pensacola Marine Max told me the best one to get. Took me all of an hour getting the old seal all out and the area really clean; then applying the new seal stuff. That was two seasons ago and it works fine.

JC Whitney used to have a pretty extensive selection of seals and weather stripping.....might be worth a look at their web site....
